Nima Tamang
Senior Guide Nima Tamang brings 12 years of Annapurna expertise and fluency in three languages to every trek.
When Nima Tamang joined our team back in 2012, he brought with him a deep-rooted understanding of the Annapurna and Manaslu regions that could only come from growing up amidst these towering ridges. Over more than a decade of leading expeditions for Himalaya Treks, Nima has guided hundreds of travelers safely past Annapurna South and across the demanding Thorong La Pass at 5416 metres. Fluent in English, Nepali, and Tamang, he bridges cultural gaps effortlessly, ensuring every guest feels genuinely connected to the mountain communities we pass through along the trail.
Beyond his technical mountain skills, Nima is known across our Kathmandu office for his steady patience and his meticulous habit of checking boots every single evening before a high camp push. He has a particular fondness for the lesser-traveled Nar Phu Valley route, where he often shares stories of his childhood winters with trekkers over cups of butter tea. For Nima, guiding is not merely about reaching the final waypoint, but about sharing the quiet, enduring rhythm of high-altitude life with those who walk beside him.
