Dawa Sherpa joined the Himalaya Treks team in 2019 and has since become one of our most dependable guides in the Langtang and Helambu regions. Born and raised in the shadow of the mountains, Dawa has spent over two decades navigating the trails of central Nepal, reaching the summits of Yala Peak and Langtang Ri multiple times. Fluent in Sherpa, Nepali, English, and basic conversational French, he bridges communication effortlessly for our international guests.
Known on the trail for his steady pace and encyclopedic knowledge of local flora, Dawa carries a battered pocket notebook filled with hand-drawn maps and weather patterns observed over fifteen years of guiding. He has a particular fondness for the high pastures of Kyanjin Gompa, where he often pauses to share hot butter tea and stories of the valley's history with travelers.
