River Rafting

River Rafting

Our river journeys combine technical whitewater navigation with self-supported expedition travel through remote Himalayan corridors. Operating across Nepal's primary watersheds—including the Trisuli, Bhote Kosi, Sun Kosi, Karnali, and Tamur—we run trips ranging from single-day technical runs to fourteen-day remote descents. These waters drop from high alpine altitudes through steep gorges, transitioning into wide gravel-bed valleys. We schedule these expeditions during two distinct meteorological windows: the post-monsoon period from October to November, when river flows stabilize following the summer rains, and the pre-monsoon spring melt from March to May, when snowmelt increases volume and creates continuous class IV and V rapids.

These itineraries suit travelers with strong swimming abilities and a tolerance for remote wilderness environments, whether you are stepping into a raft for the first time on the accessible Trisuli or committing to multi-day self-supported kayaking on the Sun Kosi and Karnali. Every trip is led by experienced river guides certified in swiftwater rescue and wilderness first aid. We maintain a strict guide-to-guest ratio to ensure safety through complex rapids and to manage camp logistics efficiently on wilderness beaches. Our safety infrastructure includes professional-grade safety kayaks on every expedition, comprehensive trauma kits, and satellite communication devices for remote valleys where cellular coverage is absent.

Logistics are managed from our Kathmandu base, utilizing 4WD support vehicles and private transport to reach remote put-in points across the middle hills and high Himalaya. We supply self-bailing rafts, high-specification helmets, personal flotation devices, and durable dry bags for all personal gear. Campsites are established on natural river sandbanks, where our support crew prepares hygienic meals using fresh local produce sourced along our transit routes. We coordinate all river permit clearances, local access fees, and post-trip return logistics, ensuring a seamless transition from the riverbanks back to Kathmandu or onward to your next Himalayan objective.
