Good to know
Travel style and transport
We travel entirely by private vehicle between all destinations, accompanied by an experienced local driver and guide. Road conditions can be winding across mountain passes, so we recommend motion sickness remedies if you are sensitive to curves.
Physical preparation
While this tour is accessible to most fitness levels, certain days involve walking up stone staircases and uneven earthen paths, most notably during the hike to Tiger's Nest. You can opt out of longer walks if you prefer a quieter pace.
Clothing and etiquette
When entering monasteries, dzongs, and sacred shrines, we must dress respectfully with long sleeves and trousers. Our guide will brief us on local customs regarding photography and temple protocols.
Currency and connectivity
Bhutan uses the Ngultrum, which is pegged to the Indian Rupee. While hotels offer Wi-Fi, connectivity can be intermittent in remote valleys, so we advise purchasing a local SIM card in Thimphu if needed.
