At a glance

Trip overview

Our four-day Mulde View Point Trek provides a quieter alternative to the heavily traveled routes in the Annapurna region. Rising to a maximum elevation of 3637 m, this ridge walk delivers expansive vistas of major Himalayan peaks including Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, and the Annapurna range without requiring technical mountaineering skills or crossing high passes.

We designed this itinerary for hikers seeking a moderate physical challenge combined with cultural immersion in Gurung villages. The trail leads us through dense forests filled with rhododendron trees, passing through traditional settlements such as Ghandruk, Tadapani, Dobato, and Ghorepani, before concluding with the classic sunrise viewpoint at Poon Hill.

Accommodation along the route consists of local teahouses and guesthouses managed by mountain communities. While facilities are straightforward, they offer warm meals and a comfortable resting place after each day of walking through the lower Annapurna foothills.

We begin our morning walking upward through dense oak and rhododendron forests, ascending steadily toward the settlement of Tadapani at 2600 m where we pause for lunch.

In the afternoon, our trail continues to climb through quieter ridge paths until we arrive at Dobato at 3350 m for our overnight teahouse stay.

Good to know

Altitude & acclimatisation

Our maximum elevation on this trek reaches 3637 m at Mulde View Point. While this altitude is lower than major base camp treks, we maintain a steady pace to allow your body to adjust naturally.

Our guides carry medical kits and monitor all participants daily for any signs of acute mountain sickness.

Accommodation on the trail

We lodge in local family-run teahouses and guesthouses along the trekking route. Rooms are furnished with twin beds, foam mattresses, and blankets, though bathroom facilities are generally shared.

Electricity for charging devices and hot shower facilities are usually available for a small local fee.

Meals and drinking water

Full board meals are included during the trek, featuring a mix of traditional Nepali dal bhat, noodle soups, momos, and various international items like pasta and porridge.

We advise carrying purification tablets or a filter to treat local tap water, as bottled water creates significant plastic waste in the mountains.

Physical preparation

This trek is rated moderate and involves daily walking periods of four to seven hours over uneven stone steps and dirt trails. We recommend engaging in cardiovascular exercise and stair training for several weeks prior to departure.
