Trip overview
Our Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek follows a remote route in the northern Gorkha district of Nepal, hugging the Tibetan border. We have designed this 16-day journey for hikers who want to experience an isolated Himalayan valley rich in Tibetan Buddhist culture. The trail winds through deep gorges carved by the Budhigandaki River, transitioning from subtropical deciduous forests to high alpine landscapes.
This route suits experienced trekkers comfortable with long walking hours on rugged stone staircases and suspension bridges. We encounter traditional Tsumba villages, ancient mani walls, and remote monasteries such as Rachen Gompa and Mu Gompa. The highest altitude we reach on this trek is 3,700 m at Mu Gompa, making proper pacing essential for a safe ascent.
We operate this trip with our experienced local guides who know the terrain and communities intimately. Accommodation along the trail consists of basic local teahouses, and we ensure our groups are properly acclimatised as we gain elevation into the upper valley.
