Trip overview
We designed this 10-day route for hikers who want to explore the rural hills of Mid-West Nepal away from the crowded main trails. The Lower Manaslu trek takes us through the historical Gorkha district, winding through terraced farmland and dense forests of rhododendron, pine, and fir.
This itinerary suits trekkers interested in rural village life and traditional cultures. We walk through large Gurung and Magar settlements such as Barphak and Laprak, where stone-paved alleys and slate-roofed houses reflect generations of mountain heritage. The route combines Hindu and Buddhist traditions as we move from warm river valleys up to high ridges.
Physical demands are moderate, with steady ascents and descents on stone staircases and dirt paths. Our maximum altitude reaches 3,220 m at Darche Danda, making this a manageable option for hikers with reasonable stamina who are comfortable with consecutive days of walking.
