Trip overview
We have designed this five-day journey to pair the dense cultural history of the Kathmandu Valley with a restorative ridge walk above the city. Beginning in the historic core of Nepal's capital, our team guides you through centuries-old palaces, shrines, and lively market squares that trace the lineage of the Malla kings.
Leaving the urban streets behind, we travel to Sankhu and begin our ascent on foot toward the hill station of Nagarkot at 2,175 m. This transition from bustling alleys to quiet forest trails and terraced farmlands provides a balanced perspective of rural and urban life in the middle hills. On clear mornings, the ridgeline reveals broad prospects of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges.
Our route continues downward through the preserved medieval architecture of Bhaktapur and Patan before returning to Kathmandu. This program suits travelers who want a deeper cultural immersion paired with light physical activity, avoiding the logistical weight of a high-altitude expedition while still experiencing traditional Newari craftsmanship and mountain panoramas.
