Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu and Preparation

Meals: B

Our team welcomes you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfers you to your hotel in Kathmandu. We conduct a pre-trek briefing to check your gear, finalize paperwork, and review the route ahead.

Day 2

Kathmandu to Trailhead and Trek Commencement

Meals: B / L / D

We depart Kathmandu early by road or domestic flight depending on the chosen region, travelling to the starting point of the trek. Walking begins immediately after reaching the trailhead.

Day 3

Ascent Through Middle Hills

Meals: B / L / D

The trail climbs steadily through terraced farmlands and forested ridges, crossing suspension bridges over glacial rivers. We reach our teahouse by late afternoon.

Day 4

Acclimatisation and Altitude Gain

Meals: B / L / D

We continue gaining elevation, entering the alpine zone where juniper and rhododendron give way to rugged mountain terrain. Proper pacing ensures safe adaptation to the thinning air.

Following the final descent, our transport meets us for the return drive or flight back to Kathmandu. We gather in the evening for a farewell dinner.

Good to know

Altitude & Acclimatisation

All our itineraries incorporate gradual altitude gains and designated rest days to minimize the risk of acute mountain sickness. Our guides carry pulse oximeters and daily health checks are standard practice on every trip.

Best time to trek

We operate our main departures during the spring pre-monsoon season from March to May and the autumn post-monsoon season from September to November. These months offer the most stable weather and clear mountain views.

Fitness expectations

Participants should possess a solid baseline of cardiovascular fitness and experience with multi-day hiking. Daily walking distances range from 5 to 7 hours over uneven terrain and stone staircases.

Accommodation & Meals

We lodge in local teahouses run by mountain families, offering twin-share rooms with basic wooden beds and foam mattresses. Meals are eaten in the communal dining hall, featuring fresh dal bhat, noodles, and soups.

Frequently asked questions

How do I join a fixed departure group?

Select your preferred trek and date from our departure list and submit a booking request. Our team will confirm availability and guide you through the deposit and permit process.

What is the average group size for departures?

Our groups typically range from 4 to 12 participants to ensure personal attention from our guides and smooth logistics in teahouses.

Can I request a custom departure date?

Yes. If our scheduled dates do not align with your travel plans, we can arrange a private custom departure for you or your private group.

What type of insurance do I need?

You must carry personal travel insurance that explicitly covers high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter rescue up to the maximum elevation of your itinerary.

Are single room supplements available?

Single rooms can be arranged in Kathmandu hotels, but single accommodation in teahouses along the trail is subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed during peak seasons.

How much cash should I bring on the trek?

We recommend carrying enough Nepalese Rupees for hot showers, battery charging, Wi-Fi, bottled water, and guide tips, as there are no ATMs on the trail.

Still have a question? Message us and our trip planner will reply within a working day.
