Trip overview
Our 7-day Bhutan Cultural Tour takes travellers into the heart of the Himalayan kingdom, focusing on the architectural and spiritual heritage that defines Bhutanese Buddhism. We have designed this itinerary for visitors seeking a deep engagement with local traditions, moving through valleys framed by towering peaks and river systems.
The journey begins in the wide valley of Paro at 2500 m, where we visit landmark fortresses such as Rinpung Dzong and the historical treasures housed within Ta Dzong. From there, our route follows the valley north toward Thimphu, the nation's capital, before crossing the Dochula Pass at 3150 m to descend into the sub-tropical Punakha valley at 1250 m.
We balance our time between urban cultural centres and rural valleys, including an excursion to Gangtey at 2900 m. Throughout the trip, our team manages all logistics, permits, and private transport, allowing you to focus entirely on the monasteries, local markets, and daily life of the communities we pass through.
