We guide you through the valleys and monastic fortresses of Bhutan on this seven-day cultural exploration.

At a glance

Trip overview

Our Bhutan Tour is a dedicated cultural journey through the valleys and monastic centers of the Kingdom of Bhutan. We designed this itinerary to introduce travelers to the living Vajrayana Buddhist traditions, architectural landmarks, and conserved natural landscapes nestled between Tibet and India. Throughout the week, our team navigates the transition from the subtropical plains of the south into temperate valleys and sub-alpine Himalayan elevations.

This journey suits travelers interested in architecture, local lifestyles, and the historical dzongs that anchor Bhutanese society. We explore fortified watchtowers, ancient temples, and rural communities while maintaining a moderate pace suited for travelers adjusting to elevations up to 2900 m. Our local guides provide historical context on the religious legends and conservation policies that shape daily life in the Land of the Thunder Dragon.

Logistically, our program utilizes comfortable ground transport in private vehicles paired with stays in government-approved hotels on a twin-sharing basis. We manage all regional permits, entrance fees, and visa requirements to ensure seamless travel between Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, and Gangtey. Physical demands remain moderate, requiring standard walking fitness for city tours and short trail excursions around historical sites.
