Trip overview
We lead this classic 10-day route directly into the glacial amphitheatre of the Annapurna Massif, bringing you face-to-face with high Himalayan peaks including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. Our journey begins in the cultivated mid-hills, rising steadily through dense forests of oak and rhododendron before breaking above the tree line into stark, high-altitude alpine terrain.
This itinerary is structured for trekkers with previous multi-day mountain experience who want a physically demanding route with solid acclimatisation profiles. We spend our nights in local teahouses run by Gurung and Thakali families, sharing communal dining rooms and eating standard mountain fare prepared fresh each evening.
While the trails are well-maintained stone steps and dirt paths, the vertical gain is substantial. Our lead guides manage the pace carefully to ensure safe ascent rates as we approach the sanctuary gates.

Altitude & Acclimatisation
We reach our maximum elevation at Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m) on Day 7. Our itinerary includes gradual altitude gains designed to give your body time to adjust, but mild headaches or shortness of breath can still occur.
Our lead guides monitor every team member daily for signs of acute mountain sickness. Descending is the primary treatment for severe altitude illness, and our crew is trained to manage emergency evacuations if required.
Teahouse Accommodation
We stay in family-run lodges along the route. Rooms are simple and unheated, typically furnished with two single beds, foam mattresses, and pillows.
Toilets and hot showers are usually shared facilities outside or down the hall. Electricity and Wi-Fi are available in most lodges for a small extra fee set by local communities.
Fitness & Preparation
This trek involves walking between four and seven hours daily over uneven terrain containing thousands of stone steps. You should build strong cardiovascular endurance and leg strength through hill walking or stair training several months prior to departure.
Water & Hydration
We advise against drinking untreated tap or stream water on the trail. Bottled water generates excessive plastic waste in the mountains, so we recommend bringing a reusable bottle along with reliable purification tablets or a portable filter.
